Home, at last

Quite a bumpy flight, but we made it. There was a woman in the row behind us who kept saying things like, "Oh my God..." I don't think she was helped much when the captain told the flight attendants to prepare for landing, but stay in their seats, leading one of them to come on the PA and tell us to put our seatbacks up, etc. Oh, and in the event of an emergency landing, don't try to take any carry-on items with you when leaving the plane...

The new years party was good, though smaller than in previous years. Apparently, the "badger the invitees to send RSVPs" step was skipped this year, plus it was held in a somewhat more remote location. Good to see people (including sbtorpey, shabet, anemone, fanlain, hukuma, oddthink and surpheon, among others). Not much sleep, but that's to be expected.

I had a pretty good year in 2005, though I've been hesitant to express that. The VAST majority of entries on the subject that I've seen on here have been overwhelmingly negative. I hope all of you have a better year this year than the last.
